Mr. Robert J. Reiland

Mr. Robert J Reiland has been an educator for the past 30 years being employed at Shadyside Academy, having taught at North Hills High School. Having received his BS in physics from Indiana University of PA, he continued his matriculation at Arizona State University receiving his Masters in Science in Physics.

Having become aware of the Summer Internship Program, Mr. Reiland researched the Department of Material Science on the CMU website. He found “many references regarding grain and grain wall characteristics in materials.” This made him aware of what knowledge he was lacking regarding this topic and its association to magnetism.

He was pleasantly surprised at the helpful and cheerful attitude all the people involved, professors, college students, and staff. With this help the topic was investigated and thoroughly researched
